| This tech tip will talk about a golf term you hear quite often - "tee it high, let it fly". To get the most out of your driver, knowing where on the face to make solid contact is important. Most golfers pay an arm and a leg for a new driver and don't get the most out of it. Most of the modern day high COR (Coefficient Of Restitution) drivers have deep faces (>50mm tall). Hitting the |

ball in the center of the face on a deeper face driver will require teeing the ball higher than a shallower face driver, yet many golfer still use a tee height they are accustomed to. Most golfers think that the number one method to increase or decrease trajectory is through the loft of the club. This would seem to be a logical statement. Having a launch monitor at our facility gives us very good data that we cannot pick up with the naked eye at the driving range. We found that loft was not the leading parameter to alter ball flight on a driver - not even close. |
