swingweights that do not vary drastically from one manufacturer to another. Attempts have been made to deviate from the norm, some of which were successful, while others were not. For example, Ping golf clubs were some of the lightest clubs mass produced with a light swingweight (C9). Dave Pelz, in the mid 1980s, introduced "Featherlite" clubs that were produced in the high B to low C range. These were short lived in the golf industry. On the opposite extreme, Goldwin produced the AVDP line of clubs in the later 1990s, which focused on an overall lighter total weight, even though the swingweight of the clubs were close to E0. These too where short lived. Maybe the only popular, mass-produced club with a higher swingweight was the TaylorMade clubs produced with the "Bubble" shafts. These weighed in around a D7 swingweight.
