will impart a draw spin to the ball to negate the potential of a slice or fade as a result of the clubface being open. Likewise, if the impact is made toward the heel, but now at the center of gravity, the ball will not have any slice spin. Heads designed with the center of gravity toward the heel are described as "draw biased."

It is possibly to design a clubhead with a "slice bias," although this is rarely done for obvious reasons. This is where the center of gravity is located intentionally on the toe-side of the center of the face. In this situation, a shot hit in the center of the face (heel-side of CoG) will promote a fade spin. This would be a positive design factor for those few who tend to hook or pull the ball.

Today, most heads are made with very little face angle variation. It is very difficult to find heads that measure open, or ones that are severely hooked as most golfers prefer a neutral
