Since most clubs today have shorter hosels which eliminate the possibility of altering face angles, you may have to rely more on the shaft torque as a method by which to get the club into the proper position at impact. Thus, in reality, face angle fitting becomes potentially a combination of both shaft and head fitting; a key point to keep in mind during a fitting session.

Loft is a fairly straightforward fitting parameter. You want to match a player with the loft that provides the most consistently accurate shots without any sacrifice in distance. Do be aware that a club's CG has an effect on how the club's loft may perform. A lower CG wood with a lower loft may actually yield similar ball flight to a higher lofted, higher CG wood.
